Year 6 pupils took part in a STEM lesson with Mr. Johnston and his fantastic team of Upper Sixth helpers from
Cookstown High School.
In their first challenge of the day, the pupils explored and assembled cardboard structures, strong enough to support different weights. The class competed in teams to find the best structural design.
In their second challenge of the morning, the pupils used straws to assemble a structure to support the weight of an egg. They used triangle designs to strengthen their models, before Mr. Johnston put each design throw some rigorous testing.
The pupils enjoyed a brilliant morning and there are definitely some budding inventors amongst the group.
